Poland is in the European Union and in the Schengen Area, which means that you can drive and fly in/out of other Schengen Area countries (such as Germany, but not the UK) without passing through any border controls. Poland unfortunately uses the horrible metric system, i.e. kilodegrees, kilomiles, kilogallons etc.
Poland, however, has not yet adopted the Euro currency. The Polish currency is the złoty, or zł, or PLN. One złoty is made of up 100 groszy. The exchange rate is usually around:
1 USD = 3.75 PLN and 1 GBP = 5.75 PLN.
